On this blog a few weeks ago, we announced that we were joining forces with Airbnb as part of their Open Homes program.

We like to say that we build “constellations of support” for each student that joins Summer Search. The anchor of that support comes from our professional mentors, who work side-by-side with our rising stars to advise, coach and challenge them on their paths towards college success.

As we highlighted in a previous post, wilderness programs make up about 58% of our 2015 summer trips. One of the cornerstones of the Summer Search model is, as our name suggests, our summer trips! Starting June 8, our students began departing on their 2015 summer trips. Here is a snapshot of our entire summer.

As part of Summer Search’s 25th Anniversary, we have been diligently collecting stories from our entire community as we remember the past 25 years, and look ahead to the next 25.

Growing up in a small, rural community my husband and I sent our children to summer programs away from home. After their freshman year of high school, each one participated in a three-week mountaineering and white-water rafting trip in Oregon.
